This is a fantastic example of an Ercol Blue Label 355 Studio Couch which has been refinished to a very high standard.

The Blue Label dates this item to a year of manufacture of roughly between 1954-76, so its one of the early Originals!

The tired brittle varnish has been removed to reveal the gorgeous wood grain of the Beech wood frame and Elm backboard. The steam bent arms are in perfect condition with no cracks or splits which can often be found on these daybeds. The Elm backboard has a beautiful grain pattern and the wood, which has been finished with 3 coats of Osmo Oil is super smooth to the touch and has a rich, warm appearance. The backboard can be removed easily for use as a bed, although you can still sleep on it with the backboard in place. All joints are strong and the Daybed is ready for its new home.

The webbing has been replaced with new Pirelli webbing and a seat/mattress cushion made. The cushion is 5 inch Reflex foam with a polyester wadding wrap, stockinette and a zipped removable cover in soft, tactile Saffron Boucle fabric which is machine washable. The cushion foam is top quality and often used in Mattresses, therefore it is incredibly comfortable to sleep on. The seat cushion is also almost 2m long so it can seat 4 people.

This daybed is sold with the Saffron Boucle seat/mattress cushion only or you can choose to add the 3 back scatter cushions.

The optional 50cm square scatter cushions have a quality feather inner with a zipped cover in half abstract print fabric from 'Saint and Poet' and half Saffron Boucle fabric to match the seat on the daybed, turn the cushions depending on your mood.
